Coming from LZ 30, the former capital of the island, Teguise is easy to find. In 1852, Teguise had to give his title to Arrecife with a heavy heart. But Teguise is a small city with a lot of charm and ambience, winding streets and historical buildings. Parking is easy.

In any case, one should visit Teguise twice: once during the week, when Teguise shows its quiet and contemplative side, and on a Sunday, when the city becomes alive. Colombian and extravagant weekend markets attract the masses. Market sellers and craftsmen present their goods - bargaining for kitsch, scrap metal and handicrafts is the order of the day.

Get into the fight and let yourself be inspired by the vitality and spirit of the city. The market closes at 2 pm, but keep your eyes open as you stroll through the alleys of Teguise. In some backyards there is live music.

Since the 90s, the church hall of the former Convento de Santo Domingo has been the venue for art exhibitions, admission is free. "Plaza de la Constitución" has several attractions. The Gothic church "San Miguel", built in the 15th century, is an eye-catcher and one of the oldest religious buildings of the Canary Islands. Unfortunately, the doors are to the inner part of the church, where the statue of the Virgin of Guadalupe is closed to most visitors.

Opposite the church is the "Palacio Spínola" from the 18th century, which now houses a Spinola Museum. Spinola is a guitar-like instrument that is played in the Canary Islands and has its origin in Teguise.
